Tim was a man whose presence could light up a room and whose heart touched countless livesthroughout his community. He was known for his humor, kindness, and fun-loving spirit. Tim had a way of making people feel welcome wherever he went. Even when someone was frustrated with him, it was impossible to stay upset for long because of his goofy personality, warm smile, and genuine nature. Those who truly knew Tim knew him as a good man — the kind of person who would help anyone he could and leave people laughing before he left the room. He was deeply loved by his family, church, friends, coworkers, and members of the community alike, and anyone who knew him had only good things to say about him.
Throughout his life, Tim gave so much of himself to others. He coached and mentored people in his community, always encouraging and uplifting those around him. Music was one of his greatest passions. Over the years, he played in multiple bands, sharing joy and entertainment with countless people through his love of music. He especially loved playing the drums and later became a bass player, which brought him great happiness and helped bring people together.
Tim and his wife previously owned Capones on Lower Street, and he was a wonderful DJ who enjoyed making weddings and birthday parties special. Tim was also known as a talented barber who loved his job and all of his clients. He loved keeping toys at the barber shop to entertain children who were scared of or did not enjoy haircuts. He connected with people not just through his work, but through conversation, laughter, and friendship. He was an adamant Dallas Cowboys fan who never missed an opportunity to cheer on his team.
Above all else, Tim had a huge heart — for both people and animals alike — and he loved all of the pets and animals that filled his home and family life, especially his fur babies: Zoey, Bo, Cooper, and Bella. The only thing Tim loved more than his wife was Jesus Christ and his Bible studies with his church friends. He loved church and praising our Savior. His faith remained a guiding force throughout his life. He loved all of his church family and especially cherished his pastor, David Atkins, whom he thought so much of.
Tim leaves behind the love of his life, his loving wife, Marsha, with whom he shared 18 years of marriage, and his son, Cameron, who loved him deeply and will miss him for the rest of his life. He was preceded in death by his mamaw, Dora Hoilman; his uncles, Harold Hoilman, Mike Hoilman, Don Hoilman, Bill Yelton, and Rob Yelton; his aunts, Gladys Dykes and Linnie Carter; his father-in-law, Eugene Clark, whom he lovingly called “Gene-o”; and his niece, Desirae Clark, his dance partner whom he had missed dearly for the past five months. He is survived by his parents, Gary and Doris Riddle; his sisters, Renee (Jamie) Duncan, Miranda Barbee, and Carolyn (Jody) Stonestreet; his brother, Joey Riddle; his aunts and uncles, Judy (Ron) Wyant, Shirley (Gerald) Garland, Doug (Ann) Hoilman, and Gail Lamb; his beloved mother-in-law, Jan Clark; and his extended family, Rick (Angela) Clark, Jerry (Jenny) Clark, and Angie (David) Whitesides. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as the many friends, neighbors, musicians, teammates, coworkers, and community members whose lives were better because they knew him.
Tim’s laughter, generosity, faith, music, and spirit will never be forgotten. He will live on in our hearts until we see that beautiful face and warm smile again. It’s never goodbye — only “see you later.”
