Carolyn Linda Townsend

Carolyn Linda Townsend, age 69, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Born on May 23, 1957, she was the daughter of the late James Edward Presnell and Nancy Marie Presnell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Townsend; her sister, Theresa Presnell, Janice Stamey, and Brenda Huffman; and her brother, Ricky Presnell.

Carolyn dedicated 31 years of service to College Pines. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who treasured her family above all else. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with those she loved. She also adored her beloved "fur babies," Phoebe, Gracie, Sophie, and Alfie, who brought her endless companionship and happiness. Carolyn loved the Christmas season and found great joy in decorating her home each year, making the holidays special for everyone around her. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her devotion to her family, and the many cherished memories she created throughout her life.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Margaret Kelly (Josh), and James Miller; a step-son, David Miller; her siblings, Rose Owens (Tim), Dean Presnell (Brenda), and Kenneth Presnell, late wife Susie; her grandchildren, Megan Shaffer (Lucas), and Jacob Ray (Anna); her great-grandchildren, Opal and Xavier Edney, Wyatt and Kendell Ray.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Friday at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the chapel.
