Jacqueline Suzanne Hurt

Jacqueline “Jackie” Suzanne Hurt, age 75, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina on July 2, 2026.

Jackie was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 26, 1950 to Jackson D. and Cathline T. Hurt. She went to Speedway High school and graduated in the class of 1968.

Jackie worked in hotel management for many years before eventually taking over her fathers business. She was an avid Indy car fan, and attended numerous Indianapolis 500 races. She was a Colts fan and a season ticket holder for many years. She also enjoyed hunting. Her favorite place to be was sitting outside by the lake, drinking a glass of red wine and spending time with her dogs.

Jackie is preceded in death by her father, Jackson D. Hurt and her mother, Cathline T. Hurt. Jackie is survived by her loving spouse of 14 years, John M. Forbes, step-daughter, Amanda (David) Bivins, grandchildren, Blake Forbes, David J. Bivins, Ian Bivins and Jacob Bivins, sister Vickie (Dave) Luhman and brother Jay Hurt.

At the family’s request there will not be a funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
