Sharon Laney Worley

Born on November 18, 1952 in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Ted and Pauline Woodard Laney. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in-death by her daughters; Lillian LeSha Worley and LeSha Elizabeth Worley.

Sharon loved her family very much, she was always proud of them, ready to support you in any way that she could, a foundation, your loudest cheerleader, your first and bestest helper. She was a go-getter, hard working, rarely idle, you'd find her mowing the lawn, painting a wall, tending her plants, sawing on wood, cooking. She adored working in her garden, wood working, painting and crocheting. She also enjoyed traveling; road tripping that included cross country trips to places such as New York City, The Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Mount Rushmore, The Painted Desert, Cape Canaveral to see the Space Shuttle launch, Mile 0 in the Florida Keys, Maine, The Gateway Arch in St. Louis and so many more places. She even loved day trips with her sister, beach trips with the grands, to the mountains just overnight, she was always ready to go anywhere you wanted to.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter; Lauren Autrey, her son; Ben Worley and wife, Lauren, her sister; Dale Coleman, her brothers; Glen Laney and Fran; Royce Laney and Kim; along with her grandchildren; Christina Autrey and Jacob, Tristan, Dorothy, and Allen Autrey, Ryleigh, Landon, Levi, and Lawson Worley; and many extended family.

A gathering celebrating the life of Sharon Worley and a time to share memories and stories with each other will be held on July 11 from 11am to 1 pm at Sharon's former home.
