Evelyn West, age 86, departed from this Earth on Friday, January 08, 2021. She is now in Jehovah God's loving memory, asleep, waiting for the day that she will be resurrected to join her family and loved ones, on a Paradise Earth. She passed away at her little home that she loved, surrounded by her loving family. She was an amazing woman and a loving mother to her children; a loving grandmother; and great grandmother.
Evelyn was the daughter of the late Everette Boyer; and her mom, LaVonne Snitchler Boyer Hesketh. She was born in Ludlow, Illinois on December 08, 1934. She had two loving sisters, Donna Palmer and her spouse, Delmas; and Janet Jarc and her spouse, Victor. They were very close and she was truly loved by her sisters.
Evelyn was a woman of many talents. She loved to do cross stitch, knitting, crochet, sewing and cooking. She helped run "A Stitch in Time Embroidery" in town as a great seamstress, making friends with many. Evelyn always had a big smile, and her laughter was amazing. She was warm hearted and loyal to those she loved. You would hardly see a day when she didn't have a warm smile on her face. She loved going on drives, taking pictures of old barns and things of beauty. Evelyn was an accomplished photographer, taking many classes back in the day with her husband for over 50 years, Herbert West. He preceded her in death on December 11th, 2013. Evelyn and Herbert moved to Marion, North Carolina from California to be with their kids and grandkids and great grandkids. Family was always her priority.
Left to cherish her precious memories are her four children, Terrie Lagrimas and her spouse, Edward, Dane West and his fiancee, Amy Ferguson, Kelly Grudowski and her spouse, Mike; and Sarena West Cox; six loving grandchildren, Nathan Lunt, his sister, Aubrey Avila and their little sister, Megan Lunt, Dalton West, Christina Lagrimas and Amy Fortin. Evelyn is also survived by six great grandchildren, Ansleigh Hill, Landin Avila, Ellie Avila, Chase West and Tyler and Emily Fortin.
One of her greatest friends and joys, as she traveled on her journey, was her hospice nurse, Nick Friendly. His kindness and love for her was something that always brightened her days, all the way to the end of that journey. She would see him come in the room, and a smile always appeared. We are forever greatful for his kindness and love that he showed her. Also, she had the love and support of Megan Lunt, her granddaughter and Amy Ferguson, her future daughter-in-law, who are also nurses, and made her final days peaceful and comfortable. We are also forever grateful to them for helping her.
In keeping with Evelyn's wishes, no services will be held.
