Billy Scott Wright, Jr., age 20, of Marion, North Carolina, succumbed from injuries he sustained as a result of a motor vehicle accident shortly after midnight on Saturday, May 1st, 2021. Born in Buncombe County, North Carolina on August 9th, 2000, he was the son of Billy Scott Wright, Sr. of Swannanoa and Crissy Sowers of Marion.
An avid car enthusiast and Dallas Cowboys fan, Billy enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and camping. Always helping those in need and lending a helping hand, he loved making new friends, however, making precious memories with his loving daughter, family and friends meant the world to him.
A loving father and son, awesome brother and true friend, Billy is survived by his parents, Billy Scott Wright, Sr. (Tasha) and Crissy Sowers (Jonathan); precious daughter, Bridgette Wright and her mother and special friend, Emma Holland; seven sisters, Kaitlyn Grant (Tristen), Destiny Wright (Ken), Nateara Bradley (Spencer), Christina Tipton (Will), Whitney Sowers, Nevaeh Wright and Sophia Wright; paternal grandparents, Barbara and Billy Wright; maternal grandmother, Mary Banks; and two great grandmothers, Hazel Banks and Betty Watson. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends he met along his journey.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Jeff Parker officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lackey Town Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Old Fort. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
