Zackie Annette Conley Carson

Zackie Annette Conley Carson, 83, of Marion, departed this earthly life on Monday evening, October 13, 2025 at Mission Hospital McDowell.

She was born in Buncombe County on April 8, 1942 to the late Vance Conley and Eula Brown Cconley.

Zackie was a member of Addies Chapel United Methodist Church and a lover of gospel music. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was also an avid sports fan. Zackie loved socializing with neighbors and within the community. She was a great friend to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Tench Carson; infant son, Tench Carson, Jr.; five sisters; and four brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory are four children, Kim Conley, Alvin Conley (Jacqueline), Keith Moore, and Aleathea Parker; one sister, Jean Conley; one brother, James Conley; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
