William Spencer Johnson, Sr.

William “Bill” Spencer Johnson, Sr., of Nebo, North Carolina, died Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Rose Hill Retirement Community.

He was born in 1935 in Lakeland, Florida, the son of Beeland W. Johnson and Helen Oleene Turner Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William “Billy” S. Johnson, Jr.; a sister; and a brother.

Survivors include Eva Flo Shepherd Johnson, wife of 69 years; Kimberly A. Leatherman (Charlie), daughter; Todd H. Johnson (Angela), son; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was a Christian and a member of Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church.
