William R. Fox, Sr.

Mr. William R. Fox, Sr., age 80, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, October 02, 2020 at his residence. Born in Anderson, Indiana on October 17, 1939, he was the son of the late William and Nondas Harles Fox. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kate Mae Willis Fox (June 20, 2011); and one son, Gerald “Jerry” Lee Fox, and one great granddaughter.

Mr. Fox was a sergeant with the United States Army Reserves and served with the 416th Chemical Company; and was the owner of Auto Glass Service of Charlotte.  William loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was an avid family man who loved to race cars in his youth; enjoyed his motorcycles; and traveled on many different occasions. 

He is survived by three children, James Richard Fox (Teresa), William Richard Fox, Jr. (Cheri), and Jeffery Eugene Fox (Nikki); four sisters, one brother; eleven grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. 

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery, 369 Huntsville Drive, Marion, North Carolina 28752, with Rev. Hugh Foy officiating.
