William "Bill" Thomsen

William “Bill” Thomsen, age 90, of Marion, passed away Tuesday morning, December 26, 2023 at his home.

He was born in Greenwich, Connecticut on May 14, 1933 to the late William Thomsen and Lucy Thomsen.

Bill was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. He was ordained as a deacon in the Episcopal Church in 1987 and served in this position for a number of years. He was also involved with prison ministry. Bill earned vocational degrees in both mechanical and aeronautical design.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Brenda England Thomsen; five children, Dean Thomsen (Sally), Stephen Thomsen (Nercy), John Thomsen (Erica), Candace Caprise (Peter), and Bryant Thomsen (Amber); two stepsons, Arthur Leake and Michael Leake; twelve grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.

Those who wish to do so may make a donation in Bill’s memory to Freedom Life Ministries or the Food Pantry at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
