Wilda McElrath Fisher

Wilda McElrath Fisher, 97, passed away at Mountain Ridge Wellness Center, on Monday, July 17, 2023.

Wilda was born in Buncombe County on March 17, 1926 to the late Moody Dewight McElrath and the late Mary Duckett McElrath.

Wilda loved to square dance and was a member of the Skyland Twirlers. She was a talented and creative seamstress who designed and made her square dancing attire. She and her husband loved traveling in their Motorhome and traveled all over the United States including Alaska and Mexico. Wilda loved the sunshine and even in the nursing home would go outside to seek out the sun.

Preceding Wilda in death are her husband, Lee Holland Fisher; her grandson, Raymond Fisher and her brother, Joe McElrath.

She is survived by her son, Victor Douglas Fisher (Roberta Vess Fisher) of Greer, SC.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with the Rev. Randy Strickland officiating. Interment will take place at Hice Hill Cemetery in Candler.
