Wetzel Samuel Hampton

Wetzel Samuel Hampton, 61, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away at his residence on Monday, January 16, 2023.

A native of Gaston County, Wetzel was born April 20, 1961 to the late Calvin Hampton and Vivian Sutton Hampton.

Wetzel was formerly employed in construction. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed learning about Native American heritage, and he also collected rocks. Wetzel was a very independent man who loved his girls and his cats. He will truly be missed.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by four siblings, Roger, Barbara, Libby, and Phillip.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Ann Ray Hampton; two daughters, Kelsie Hampton and Sierra Hampton; a stepdaughter, Brittany Eldridge (Caleb); four siblings, Calvin, Nathan, Timothy, and Eunice; one grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, a private family memorial service will be held.
