Wesley "Wes" Duane Dowdle

Wesley “Wes” Duane Dowdle, age 50, of Morganton, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026.

He was born in Rutherford County on September 12, 1975. Wes had a passion for motorcycles. An avid sports fan, he loved following NC State, Atlanta Braves, and WWE. He was known for his unique familiarity with any movie or song one could think of. He cherished the bond he shared with his best friend and buddy, Murphy Lee Dowdle, who always called him “Uncle A.” Wes will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter who he called “Sissy,” Kayla Rogers (Justin); two grandchildren, Harper Rogers and Easton Rogers; his parents, Bill and Carolyn Dowdle; two brothers, Tim Dowdle (Melinda) and Daniel Dowdle (Casey); six nephews, Austin, Lane, Murphy, Everett, Drake, and Braxton; and one niece, Taylor.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Free Will Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
