Wanda Lee Correll Wilson

Wanda Lee Correll Wilson, 75, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Monday, October 31, 2022 at Mission Hospital McDowell.

She was born in Buncombe County on January 5, 1947 to the late Eldon Correll and Martha Meadows Correll.

Wanda will be remembered as a great Christian lady who loved reading her Bible and who believed strongly in the power of prayer. She came from a humble and meek family and maintained a simple lifestyle her whole life. Her family, especially her children, were her greatest accomplishment in life. Wanda was a loving wife and the best mother one could ever have. She worked as a seamstress for most of her life before joining her husband as a truck driver. Wanda enjoyed cooking, gardening, and tending to her flowers. She always felt blessed despite her personal hardships in life.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Ella Gail McPeters Smith; and her sister, Patricia Correll Hall.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William M. Wilson; three children, Dale L. McPeters, William Tracy Wilson, and William Eric Wilson; brother, David Correll (Sherry); and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Donald Justice officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
