Wanda Awaithun Robinson Strickland

     Wanda Awaithun Robinson Strickland, 86, of Marion, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

     Wanda was born the oldest of ten children, in Yancey County, NC, on January 13, 1940, to the late Callie and George Robinson. She loved flowers, sewing, and being outdoors, where she enjoyed gathering galax with her sisters. Wanda spent her life taking care of her family. She was a doting grandmother who held a special bond with all of her grandchildren. She will always be loved and remembered.

     Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Linda Fox; a granddaughter, Tiffany Fox Morgan (Patrick); a grandson, Brandon Fox (Shanita); five great grandchildren, Emma-Lee, Hayley, Katelyn, Tristan, and Rachel; and numerous brothers and sisters.

     A graveside memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026, at South Estatoe Baptist Church Cemetery.
