Wade Lee Waycaster

Wade Lee Waycaster, 82, of Marion, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Deer Park Health and Rehabilitation. 

 

He was born in Catawba County on July 14, 1941 to the late Frank Waycaster and Cartha Bolick Martin. He was also preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years, Lena “Faye” Williams Waycaster who passed away one day prior; and four siblings, John Ray Waycaster, Michael Waycaster, Ernestine Clay, and Gail Carter.

 

Wade was a great neighbor and friend who was always looking for ways to help others. He was very involved in the lives of his family members. He had a green thumb and was truly gifted when it came to working with his hands. An avid sports fan, he formerly coached baseball. Wade also had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.

 

He is survived by three sons, Jeff Waycaster (Lora), Steve Waycaster (Carol), and Scott Waycaster (Wendy); four grandchildren, Cody Waycaster (Ashley), Stacey Sharpe (David), Blake Watson (Betsy), and Danielle Hart (Clay); nine great grandchildren, Liam Waycaster, Aurora Waycaster, Autumn Waycaster, Khol Sharpe, Jackson Sharpe, Liliana Sheridan, Elspeth Sheridan, Sylvia Sharpe, and Elisha Watson; and five siblings, JoAnn Rabb, Cindy Vogel, Carol Ciopryna, Timmy Waycaster, and Tommy Waycaster.

 

Services will be private for the family.
