Virginia Ruth Randolph Effler, 70, of Marion, went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.
A native of Marion, she was born on October 27, 1955 to the late Carl Mildred Randolph and Mary Grace Gaddy Randolph. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Alfred “Gene” Effler.
Virginia was a longtime member of Victory Temple Full Gospel Church. A devout Christian, she will be remembered as a steadfast woman of faith. Her career was spent in bookkeeping, and she retired from the City of Marion. Virginia was wholly devoted to her family. She loved each member of her family deeply, and she made sure they knew it. She especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Virginia enjoyed trips to the beach, particularly the Outer Banks. She was an avid football fan and was known to cheer for the Carolina Panthers any chance she got. Virginia was a talented seamstress, often working on a sewing project. Her humility and ability to make others laugh and feel loved will be missed.
She is survived by her children, Michelle Effler Mathis (Buster), Sarah Grace Effler, and Rebekah Effler Marban (Oscar); four grandchildren, Brooke Weaver (Justin), Megan Mathis, Maila Marban, and Oliver Marban; four great-grandchildren, Brayden Martin, Addison Weaver, Brantley Weaver, and Mallory Gist; her brother, Jackie Gaddy (Linda); her sisters, Kathy Crawley (JK) and Edith Bolick (Gary); and several special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Pastor Pete McCombs. Burial will follow at Victory Temple Full Gospel Church Cemetery.
