Vanessa Renee Mitchell

     Vanessa Renee Clark Mitchell, 65, of Nebo, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.

     Vanessa was born in McDowell County, NC, on November 27, 1960. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Nebo and was known for her big heart. Vanessa was a very strong-willed lady who devoted her life to her friends and family. She will always be loved and remembered by many.

     Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Roger Mitchell; her parents, Janna Baker and Hal Baker, Sr.; two children, Mitch Loftis, Jr. and Jennifer Loftis; two brothers, Hal Baker, Jr. (Amy) and John Baker (Sara); two grandchildren, Taylor Styles and Kerstyn Loftis; nieces and nephews, Katie Baker, Rachel Baker, Nathan Baker, and Sonali Levens-Bansal; and a sister in law, Tammy Creson (Richard).

     A service to honor to Vanessa’s life will be held at Trinity Methodist Church at a later date.
