Vanessa Lynn Carver Benfield

Vanessa Lynn Carver Benfield, 62, of Old Fort passed away at Mission Memorial in Asheville on the evening of Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

Vanessa was born in McDowell County on April 02, 1961 to the late Charlie John Carver and the late Evelyn Caldwell Sewell.

Vanessa was always doing for others and was known as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She also enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Anglia Walker (Joe); step father, John Sewell; sisters, Debbie Mabey (Matthew), Susan Smith and Tammy Staub (Joe); brothers, John Richard Carver (Delsie) and Steve Sewell (Mandi); three grandchildren, Cody Gilliam (Mia), Dylan Walker and Jacob Walker and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In keeping with her wishes, no services are planned at this time.
