Trudy Wade

On the morning of her 87th birthday (Tuesday, March 31, 2020), Gertrude “Trudy” Swiger Wade of Old Fort, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord at Mountain Ridge Health & Rehabilitation in Black Mountain, North Carolina.  The daughter of the late Dixon and Margaret Johnson Swiger, she was born in Littleton, West Virginia on March 31, 1933.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Wade, who passed away in 1983.

In her later years, Trudy was very creative and enjoyed doing crafts, especially painting.  She was a wonderful mother who took great pride in raising her children, and was a hard worker with strong work ethics. Immediately prior to her death all of her children were able to spend precious time with her. 

Mrs. Wade is survived by her five children, Mitchell R. Wade and wife, Kellie, Donald D. Wade and wife, Catherine, Marie A. Grindstaff and husband, Donald, Carla J. Long and Robert B. Wade; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. 

Services to be held in Wellsburg, West Virginia at a later date.
