Troy Clifford Flynn

Troy Clifford Flynn, age 85, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at his residence while surrounded by his family following an extended illness.

Born in Rutherford County, he was born on May 31, 1935 to the late Fred and Beulah Vess Flynn.

Known as a very independent hard-worker, Troy lived a long and happy life. He was an avid hunter, and he had a special place in his heart for his pets. He was a loving husband and caregiver to his wife, and he was a daddy and papaw to many.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris Wilkerson Flynn; two children, Johnny Flynn (Robin) and Anita Warren (Len); five grandchildren, Christina Harris (Jamie), Patricia Flynn (Scott), Brandon Flynn (Joanna), Jason Flynn, and Monica Allen (Jake); twelve great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and five siblings, Agnes White (Jim), David Flynn, Harold Flynn, Linda Rowe, and Jesse Flynn.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Montford Cove Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Bruce Ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
