Toney Wesley Lewis, I

Toney Wesley Lewis, I, 57, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on the evening of Monday, September 28, 2020 at his residence.

A native of McDowell County, he was born on November 13, 1962 to the late Lessie Ruth Lewis Hensley.

He retired in May 2020 as a truck driver for Heartland Express. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Old Fort. Toney enjoyed camping and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He also enjoyed boating on Lake James.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by two siblings, Lisa Hensley Stockton and Michael Lewis.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of nearly 32 years, Lynn Nichols Lewis; two children, Lauren Lewis Young and husband Trey and Toney Wesley Lewis, II; and three grandchildren, Asher Jackson Young, Toney Wesley “Trey” Lewis, III, and Kaedan Kallio. He was crazy about his three dogs who also survive.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Lewis will be held on Friday, October 02, 2020 in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service & Crematory at 3:00 o’clock p.m with Reverend Drew Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service.
