Timothy Andrew Gautney

Timothy Andrew Gautney, 65, of Nebo, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Swannanoa Valley Health & Rehabilitation.

A native of Colbert County, Alabama, Tim was born September 18, 1959 to the late James “Cal” Gautney and Lois “Polly” Dorton Gautney.

Tim retired from the McDowell County Senior Center where he worked in food service. He loved cooking and took great pride in doing so. His ultimate goal was to serve others by treating them as family. He was instrumental in the community Thanksgiving dinners in which he shared his culinary skills with others. He looked forward to this every year. Tim was an avid fisherman, and he enjoyed trips to the Tennessee River and back home to Alabama to visit family and friends. He was a likeable person who was loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lavender Gautney; three children, Tyler Gautney, Kyle Toney (Laura), and Kimberly Lewis; four grandchildren, Nathan, Brian, William, and Rebecca; three brothers, James Gautney (Sherri), Danny Gautney (Tammy), and David Gautney (Sha); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Andrew Whisenant (Jamie), Teresa Vess (Randy), and Pamela Elliott (Keith).

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
