Thomasine Fish Melton

Thomasine Fish Melton, age 89, of Old Hwy. 10 East in Nebo, passed away Monday, March 23, 2026 at her home. 

Born on May 21, 1936 in Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Elisha and Mildred Lamb Fish, In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Melton. Also preceding her in death was her sister, Naomi Bryson and her brother, Eddie Fish. 

She was a member of the Praise Assembly of God. She was a strong willed person who often took care of chores and projects herself that others wouldn’t. She instilled work ethics in her children at an early age. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and crocheting. 

Left to cherish her memories are her children; Douglas Melton and wife, Sue, Sharon Braswell and husband, James and Trisha Shelton and husband, Charlie, her sisters; Beulah Queen, Elizabeth Williams, Loretta Gibbs, and Rosalee Benhart and husband, Marvin, her brother; Bud Fish and wife, Jackie. 

Funeral services for Thomasine Melton will be on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Bethel Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Kevin Crawford, Boyd Biggerstaff and Bud Fish officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Bethel Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. The arrangements for Mrs. Melton have been entrusted to Beam Funeral Service.
