Thomas "Tommy" Howell Buchanan

Thomas “Tommy” Howell Buchanan, of Dysartsville, North Carolina, passed away November 13, 2025 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

Thomas was born in Haywood County, North Carolina on May 20, 1943 to the late Howell Jackson and Mattie Rabb Buchanan. Thomas was an avid drag car racer in his younger days and an excellent old school mechanic as well as a good handyman.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by a son, Howell Thomas Buchanan, and a daughter, Summer Buchanan McKinney.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Tiffany Shane Lozano and Tonya Renee Buchanan; sister, Susie Causby; brother, H. Richard Buchanan; and numerous grandchildren.

In keeping with Tommy’s wishes, no services are planned.
