Thomas Albert Rapan

Thomas Albert Rapan, age 76, passed away at the Charles George VA Medical Center, on Sunday, November 21, 2021.

He was born to the late Raymond and Kathleen Walsh Rapan, on February 16, 1945, in Allegany County, New York.

Thomas proudly served in the US Navy. He was a Vietnam Vet and in the Riverine Force. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the Navy Commendation Medal. Thomas was a wood craftsman and also a volunteer firefighter in New York and North Carolina. He was a simple man with a good sense of humor; who loved his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Bob and Fred Rapan and a sister, Jean Rushmore.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, John Rapan (Cheryl); his daughter, Shantel Wyatt (Zachary); one sister, Linda Smith; one brother, Lee Rapan; five grandchildren, Seth Crowder (Saige), Justin Webb (Zoey), Megan Wheeler (Seth), Sarah Rapan and Thomas Rapan and seven great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service, at 3:00 p.m., with Jim Rhinehart officiating.
