Thelma Irene Parker Hughes

Thelma Irene Parker Hughes, 88, of Old Fort passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. She was born November 14, 1934 in McDowell County to the late Charles and Josie Parker.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She and Dewey Hughes shared many happy years of marriage. She loved her family, Frank and Joan Hughes, Nancy Thompson, Michael and Linda Hughes and Mark Hughes. She was proud of her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her interests were decorating her house, reading, collecting family pictures and looking at her Blue Ridge Mountains. She was a longtime member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Old Fort.
