Terry Edward Crisp

On the evening of Sunday, January 11, 2026, Terry Edward Crisp, 62, of Marion, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in McDowell County on March 31, 1963. Terry was an over-the-road truck driver for over forty years, a job he truly loved. He enjoyed his trips across the country and remarkably never received a ticket or got in an accident, a testament to his dedication to his work. Terry was a music lover and listened to a wide variety of music. He loved anything with a motor, particularly classic cars, of which he owned several over the years. Known for his love of laughter and his ever-present smile, Terry never met a stranger. He was deeply loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Lee Crisp; paternal grandparents, Vencint and Gertrude Crisp; maternal grandparents, Miller “Pappy” and Eula Mae McCoyle McKinney “Mammy”; one niece, April Crisp; and a special canine companion, Lobo.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Robert and Martha McKinney Crisp; one brother, Keith Crisp (Sheila); one sister, Tammy Hodgson (Wayne); a sister-in-law, Cindy Crisp; nieces and nephew, Chasity Whitson (Kenny), Michelle McCormick (Troy), Bryan Crisp, Jada Crisp, and Kara Sullivan (Logan); great-nieces and great-nephews, Dillon Ramsey, Deven Ramsey, Tristian Crisp, Christian Crisp (Summer), Alexus Whitson, Robby Whitson, Jayleigh Hensley, Easton Sullivan, and Sutton Sullivan; great-great niece and nephew, Aria Crisp and Cash Crisp; a special friend who was like a brother, Ronnie Rector; and his beloved dog, Gidget.

In accordance with his wishes, a private celebration of Terry’s life will be held at a later date.
