Teresa Lynn Huskins Garland

Teresa Lynn Huskins Garland, 67, of Spruce Pine passed away at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital on Friday, September 18, 2026. Teresa was born in Mitchell County on October 20, 1958 to the late Scott Huskins and Edna Stamey Huskins.

Teresa was lovingly known as Nana T., a name which she treasured and loved being called by her family. She loved to paint and work outside. She treasured her family, especially her grandkids.

Surviving her are her husband, Jessie Garland; her four children, Chris Wyatt, Brian Wyatt (Lacey), Derek Carpenter (Summer) and Justin Garland (Tia); her siblings, Gaye Robinson (Mike) and Vincent Huskins; seven grandchildren, Jacie Wyatt, Forrest-June Wyatt , Colton Carpenter, Evan Carpenter, Dahlia Carpenter, Walton Garland and Ellis Garland.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026 at 5:00 pm at Mt Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Toby Crowder and Rev. Andy Willis officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 prior to the service.
