Stephen Jay Thomas

On Sunday October 15, 2023, Stephen Jay Thomas of Marion, age 67, entered his heavenly home to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Stephen was born on October 9, 1956 in McDowell County to the late James Creed Thomas and the late Bonnie Lucille Wilson Thomas.

In his later years, Stephen dedicated his life to the Lord and in doing so became a God fearing man. He was an active member of Victory Temple Full Gospel Church. Stephen loved to listen to gospel music and sing.

Including his parent he is preceded in death by a brother, James “Jim” Calvin Thomas.

Left to cherish his memory are his three sisters, Gail Dills, Rhonda Dobson (Jimmy) and Cheryl Ward (Bruce); nieces, Kelci Dobson and Autumn Baker (Nathan); nephews, Anthony Thomas (Heidi), James Pate (Donna), Wade Thomas and Dillon Dobson (Alyssa); several great nieces and nephews; a special aunt, Drue Taylor and a special cousin, Dianne White (Joe).

The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Victory Temple Full Gospel Church. They will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m.
