Stephen Gerard Lear, born on June 11, 1951, in Anaheim, California, peacefully passed away at his residence on August 29, 2025. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Stephen served his country with honor and dedication.
Stephen was known for his personality, always engaging in humor and light-heartedness to uplift those around him. He had an extraordinary ability to make others feel good, often going out of his way to lend a helping hand.
A passionate music lover, Stephen found joy in playing the guitar, sharing his love for music with friends and family. He was a devoted member of the Missionary Alliance Church of Marion and was actively involved with Freedom Life Ministries, where he contributed his time and energy to serve the community.
Stephen is survived by his loving daughter Chandra Buchanan and her husband Jason, his sister Teresa Jouaneh and her husband Yagoub, as well as his grandchildren: Austin Collins, Jada Collins, Haley Buchanan, and Magnolia Buchanan. His legacy of laughter, kindness, and service will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
Stephen will be interred at the Western Carolina State Veteran Cemetery in Black Mountain. Service information will be announced when finalized.
