Stephen Douglas Cantrell

     Stephen Douglas Cantrell, 58, of Valdese, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023, at UNC Health Care Blue Ridge.

     Stephen was born in Burke County, NC, to the late Julian Burrell Cantrell and Betty Vanhorn Cantrell. He was known as a people person who loved everyone. He loved being around people and liked to hug everyone he met. He enjoyed listening to music, playing cards, and watching tv. Most of all, he loved his family and friends.

     In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by a brother, James Cantrell; and a sister in law, Pamela Cantrell.

     Those left to cherish his memory include a daughter, Amy Cantrell; a brother, John Cantrell; a sister, Neelie Carswell (Joe); a sister in law, Leisa Cantrell; his aunt, Peggy Webb; two grandchildren; a niece, Lindsay Williams (Logan); three nephews, Adam Ward, Jaydon Thompson, Phillip Cantrell; a great niece, Chloe Williams; and two great nephews, Cayden Williams and Carter Williams.
