Stephen Emmitt Brown

     Stephen “Lucky” Emmitt Brown, 71, of Old Fort, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, at his residence.

     Lucky was born in McDowell County, NC on April 21, 1952, to the late George Washington Brown and Ruth Pauline Boone Brown. Lucky loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, trout fishing, watching western movies, and was a role model for many children over the years. He will be greatly missed.

     In addition to his parents, Lucky was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll “Bubba” Brown (Helen); seven sisters, Gladys “Sis” Silver (Johnnie), Pat Loftis (Dan), Peggy Brigman (Tommy), Penny Medford (Junior), Wanda Wilson (J.D.), Billie Ann Burgess, and Brenda Geoghegan.

     He is survived by a brother, Johnny “Chuck” Brown (Frieda); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     In accordance with Lucky’s wishes, no services will be held.
