Stanley Charles Konopka Jr.

Stanley Konopka Jr of Nebo passed away suddenly in his home on September 12, 2023. Born in Philadelphia and the eldest son of WWII Purple Heart Veteran, Stanley Charles Konopka Sr and Mabel Lawson Konopka of Asheville, NC. 

Stanley spent his life managing his own paint business doing mostly residential projects throughout Western NC. A learned skill from his father which has also passed on to his son Daniel. He was an avid animal lover and would always take in any stray cats who needed a home. He loved his Maltese Jack Frost and had several cats he adored. 

He is preceded in death by his late wife Lynda Konopka, sister Loretta Case as well as his father and mother mentioned. He is survived by his daughter Dawn Thomas (Alan Thomas); son Daniel Konopka, daughter April Konopka; step-son Justin Speir; grandsons Jacob Thomas and Marek Konopka; granddaughter Haley Thomas; sister Cecelia Freeman (Butch Freeman) and brother Blaine Konopka.
