Sherry Lee Yeager

     Sherry Lee Cumberland Yeager, 75, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Mission McDowell Hospital.

     Sherry was born in Arlington, Virginia on May 22, 1948, to the late Mae Alexander and John Cumberland. She served her country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. While living in Oswego, New York, Sherry was a Commandant of the VFW post. She was an animal enthusiast. Sherry had a passion for quilting and was a member of the following guilds: the Mountain Glory Quilters Guild in Marion, the Pineneedles Quilting Guild in Lenoir and the Burke County Quilters Guild in Morganton.. Sherry touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed.

     In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by a daughter, Dennise Stone; and a grandson, James Tyler Stone.

     Those left to cherish her memory include her fiancé and companion of 31 years, Richard Marinelli; a sister, Christine Comeau; a brother, John Cumberland; and a granddaughter, Micayla Stone.
