Shelley McMahan

Shelley Elliott McMahan, age 68, passed away at her residence in Old Fort, North Carolina on the morning of Sunday, March 14, 2021.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, she was born on February 14, 1953 to the late Hobert and Betty Jean Elliott. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Elliott; and one sister, Sharon Haney. 

Shelley, who enjoyed playing solitaire, was an avid shopper at Walmart.  She loved her canine companion Candy, but most of all, she loved her family.  Shelley was a member of Old Path Church in the Celo Community of Burnsville. 

She is survived by her boyfriend, Robert Robinson; three sons, Jimmy Heffernan (Jennifer), Eric Heffernan and Joshua Robinson; one brother, Hobert Elliott, Jr.; two sisters, Kathy Gibson (Gene) and Lois Dugger (Roger); four grandchildren, four great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and last but not least, her canine, Candy.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Matt Hopson officiating.  Interment will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
