Sarah Nican Moore Sigmon

Sarah Nican Moore Sigmon, 59, passed away on June 15, 2026, at McDowell Hospital. Born on September 27, 1966, in McDowell County, Sarah lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, and an unwavering spirit of generosity.

Throughout her life, Sarah was known for her tireless work ethic and her readiness to extend a helping hand to those in need. Her commitment to supporting others made her a cherished friend and valued member of her community. Beyond her admirable devotion to labor and service, she found joy and freedom in riding her motorcycle, a passion that reflected her adventurous and spirited nature.

Sarah is survived by her loving mother, Helen Pack Moore, her two sons, Maxwell Hampton (Hayley) and Jonathon Sigmon, who were a source of immense joy and pride in her life. Her life partner, Ronald McMahan; her siblings, Rosetta Hollifield, Sharon Barlow, Joe Moore (Angie) and Sheila Moore Holley (Dewayne) along with numerous nieces and nephews, each touched by Sarah’s warmth and care. Sarah also had a special friend, Ms. Shirley who kept her grounded and gave her guidance through out her live. Not to be forgotten was Bam Bam, her beloved canine companion, who provided comfort and companionship that only a faithful pet can offer.

Sarah was preceded in death by her father, Joseph "J.C." Moore, and her nephew, Gavan Hollifield. Their memories live on in the hearts of all who knew them.

The legacy Sarah leaves behind is one of dedication, kindness, and love—a testament to a life well-lived. Those who had the privilege of knowing Sarah will remember her as a steadfast friend, nurturing mother, devoted partner, and a beacon of generous spirit. Her presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
