Sarah Adrienne Silvers McDill, a cherished member of her community and the oldest living member of Sunnyvale Baptist Church, passed away on April 29, 2026, at Mission Memorial Hospital. Born on January 28, 1941, Sarah lived a life enriched by strong family ties, dedication to her craft, and deep-rooted connections to the Buck Creek community where she and her family were lovingly raised side by side on shared family land.
Adrienne’s life was marked by an extraordinary career spanning over 45 years in the floral industry. As the owner and operator of the Marion Florist, she brought beauty and joy to countless celebrations. Her commitment and expertise made her a respected figure in her profession and a beloved fixture in the Marion area.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Adrienne had a creative heart and a variety of interests. She was a talented seamstress. Those close to her fondly remember her as a loving aunt who deeply cared for her nieces and nephews—Tilly and her husband Kim, Timmy, Radar, Wade, Cynthia, and Teresa. Adrienne enjoyed treasured moments spent with her sister, indulging in special days of getting their hair and nails done. She also found joy in spending countless hours sitting at the kitchen table playing penuckle with her sisters and cousins. She also enjoyed the music of Elvis.
Adrienne is survived by her daughter Sophie and her husband Randy; her sisters Laura and Faye; granddaughter Abbie and her husband Justin; grandsons Hunter, Keever, and Lucas; great-grandchildren Donovan and Julie; and cousins Wilma, Shirley, Jerry, and his wife Robbin, individuals she considered close as siblings and held dear throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ray McDill; children Julie and Walter; and brothers Carl and David.
The community is invited to pay their respects during a visitation held on May 4, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Beam Celebration Center, located at 2170 Rutherford Road, Marion, North Carolina.
