Sarah Ruth McCourry

February 6, 1949 — February 1, 2021

Sarah Ruth Johnson McCourry passed away unexpectedly on Monday February 1st, 2021. Born on February 6th, 1949, she was a young 71 years old, but always said she was 39 again.

Preceded in death was her youngest son Curtis L. McCourry, her father and mother Mack and Sallie Johnson, Her most beloved brother Doyle Johnson, Her sister Patricia Buchanan and brother James G. Johnson.

Left to cherish her wonderful memory is her husband Donald McCourry of 49 years, it would have been 50 years in April. Her son Omar McCourry. Daughter Deborah Rogers and son-in-law Ken. Her daughter Arlene Manis and son-in-law John, sister-in-law Rose Johnson, Her brother David Johnson (Robin), Her Aunt Donnie Minton and husband Dennis and a very special beloved cousin like a sister Jenny Thompson and husband Don.

Our Momma always had a positive attitude. She loved to laugh and was a jolly person. She loved to quilt and most of all work her puzzle books. Momma knew no strangers. She would talk to you as if she knew you all her life. She had a heart of gold if you took the time to see her. She loved to talk if you took the time to listen. And if you only took the time you would have had a great friend forever. Momma always said, “When it’s my time to go, I’m going.” And The Good Lord listened and took her home.

Family and friends will be at Beam’s Funeral Home in Marion Friday, February 5, 2021, at 1:00 p.m.– 2:00 p.m.
