Sandra Gail Cable Lawson

Sandra Gail Cable Lawson, 65, of Old Fort, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.

She was born in McDowell County on June 12, 1960 to the late Kermit Claxton Cable and Mary Kathryn Lawing Cable.

Sandy retired from Parker Hosiery after 25 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, camping, and going to the lake. An avid fan of NASCAR and music, Sandy also had a special place in her heart for children, particularly her grandchildren who meant the world to her. Going out to eat with her family was also something she enjoyed. She will be remembered for her outgoing and spirited personality.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Tony Lawson, who passed away ten months prior. They were wholly devoted to one another and were a real example of true love.

She is survived by her daughter, Brandy Lawson Riddle (Scott); two grandchildren, Garrett Riddle and Shandy Riddle; one sister, Debra Aldridge (Tim); brother-in-law, Scott Lawson (Becky); sister-in-law, Renee Tilson; her mother-in-law, Rena Carr Hall; and several nieces and nephews who she loved.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Snapper Greene officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
