Sadie Louise Haney Woody

Sadie Louise Haney Woody, 81, of Marion, passed away Friday, May 9, 2025, at her residence.

Sadie was born in McDowell County, NC, on February 14, 1944, to the late John Sherman Haney and Minnie Maybelle Bradley Haney. She was married to the late Donald Lee Woody, who passed away in 2018. Sadie was a member of Rocky Pass Freewill Baptist Church and was a lady of many talents. She enjoyed scrapbooking, making floral arrangements, and assisting others with decorating and home interiors. Most of all, Sadie loved the Lord and spending time with her great grandchildren. She will always be loved and remembered.

In addition to her husband and parents, Sadie was preceded in death by two brothers; and six sisters.

She is survived by three children, Donna Lynn Hollifield (Ricky), Pam Brooks (Tony), and Allan Woody (Maggie); four grandchildren, Jessica Hollifield, Ben Brooks (Maile), Amanda Gasche (Jay), and Alex Woody; and six great grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date, at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. Rev. Alan Sailors will officiate.
