Ruth Gossett

     Margaret Ruth (Sissy) Gossett, 94 of Marion, passed away on Monday, July 1st, 2024 at Mountain Ridge Wellness Center in Black Mountain, N.C.

     Ruth was born in McDowell County, N.C. on July 14, 1929 to the late Maggie Lee Jimison and Garland Hall. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Cleveland Gossett; sons, Donnie Gossett and Ronnie Gossett and grandchildren, Matthew Gossett and Alesa Gossett.

     Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, David Gossett and wife, Susan of Marion and Jamie Gossett of Old Fort. Grandchildren, Katie Straughan (Dustin), Chase Gossett (Danielle), Michael Gossett (Philista), Chris Gossett (Chastity), Ronnie Gossett, Brian Gossett (Ashlie), and Donovan Gossett, (Tracie.) She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren along with a dear friend, William Sackett and Nancy Gossett, daughter-in-law.

     A memorial service will be held at a later date.
