Ruel Hines Morgan

Ruel Hines Morgan, 77, entered Heaven’s gate on May 21, 2023. He was born in Charlotte on July 30, 1945, a son of the late Ruel Ree Morgan and Ferne Davis Morgan, and brother to his late sister, Nina Mumpower.

He enjoyed a long working career. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1984. Ruel spent 23 years with Duke Energy Corp., retiring in 2007. At the end of his career, he worked with total Protection Services for several years.

Ruel is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Buchanan Morgan; daughters, Lisa Spencer and Celina Stewart (Levi); grandsons, Daniel Stewart (Juliet, bonus granddaughter), Brandon Lines; and bonus granddaughter, Montana Barnette-Stewart; sister, Carol Poston; and nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at McEwen Funeral Home Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC. The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 1st at Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church, 2201 Springdale Ave., Charlotte, NC. Burial with full military honors will take place later that afternoon at 3 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1372 Macedonia Church Loop, Nebo, NC.
