Ruby "Irene" Hall Church

Ruby “Irene” Hall Church, 83, of Ellenboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Amorem Forlines Patient Care Hospice Unit in Hudson, North Carolina.

Irene was born in Marion, North Carolina on March 16, 1943 to the late Frank R. Hall and Geneva B. Hall. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William “Edward” Church, Sr., her oldest son, William “Billy” Church, and two sisters, Jeanette Randolph and Patsy Padgett.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family before herself, she will be missed by all who came to know her. She was the perfect example of unconditional love. Irene loved crocheting blankets for her family which they will forever cherish. She also enjoyed shopping for her family and preparing family dinners so her and her late husband, Eddie, could enjoy having the family gathered together.

Surviving Irene are her children, Teresa Church Hartley (Scott), Mark Church (Kathy), and Regina Church Ramsey; seven grandchildren, Anthony Ramsey (Alana), Mackenzie Parsons, Tara Church (Billy), Hollie Newton, John Church, Karen Holloway (William), and Haley Sexton; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 3, 2026 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Toby Talley. Interment will follow at Drucilla Independent Fundamental Church Cemetery.
