Ruby Jane Watkins Clark, 76, of Stoneville, North Carolina and formerly of Marion, passed away at her home on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
She was born in McDowell County on September 19, 1949 to the late Robert LeeFoy Watkins and Lillian Lucile Lindsey Watkins.
Ruby was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church. She was formerly employed as a bus driver at Glenwood Elementary School, but she later retired from Leviton Manufacturing. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and word searches. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Ruby loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Ruby Lynn Clark and Kimberly Waine Clark.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, James Everette Clark; two children, Ollis Clark (Mary) and Shelia Gouge (Scott); four grandchildren, Jimmy Clark, Michelle Lail (Billy), Derra Black (Michael), and Danner Gouge (Chasity); five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Sirius, Heaven, Persy, and Noah; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth “Libby” Watkins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 157 Faith Baptist Church Road, in Marion. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Jeffrey Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
