Roy Lynn Rabb

Roy Lynn Rabb, 84, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital.

He was born in Cleveland County on August 27, 1936 to the late John Rabb and Mable Wease Rabb. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Arbeth Rabb.

Roy retired from Verizon in 1991 and then from Walker & Associates in 2003. A member of Shining Light Baptist Church, he truly loved his Lord, family, and country. He was a proud retiree of the United States Air Force in 1975. Roy enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing with his grandchildren. Roy ran his course and kept the faith, and he will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Millie Williams Rabb; three children, Rhonda Rabb Carswell (Eric), Dona Rabb Berry (Jeffrey), and Teresa Rabb Marlowe (Gary); four grandchildren, Callie Rabb Gray, Lindsey Taylor Eversoll (David), Eric Wesson Carswell, and Roy Rabb Carswell; one great grandchild, Dawson Eversoll; and one brother, Clyde Rabb.

A funeral service with full military honors will be held on Monday, February 01, 2021 at Shining Light Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Danny Castle officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. A private interment will be held on Tuesday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bus Ministry at Shining Light Baptist Church.

Millie, Rhonda, Donna, & Teresa. My sympathies are with all of you right now. I miss him already, and I can't imagine how much you miss him. Roy was an inspiration to me and people he never knew, as I would share his humor, and his wisdom with my friends. Periodically they would ask if I had any wisdom from Uncle Roy as they grew to depend on his insight. We e-mailed a lot over the years and he inspired me to grow further in my faith and I am glad that I got to tell him that personally. He truly was one of kind, and I know the Lord greeted him and told him well done. His legacy is in all of us, and we owe it to him and ourselves to share all that was good about Roy. From my family to yours. Tom, Darla and Megan Rabb.

So sorry to hear about this. I know you guys are hurting and he meant the world to all of the family. He will be missed dearly by many folk but, in Heaven he was welcomed with open arms by Jesus Himself, the family that loved him can take a ton of solace in that. Jesus never fails!
