Roxann Philbeck Hollifield

Roxann Philbeck Hollifield, 87, of Marion, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills surrounded by family.

A native of Rutherford County, of the Washburn community, she was born on March 17, 1939 to the late Gilmer Philbeck and Lucy Higgins Philbeck.

Roxann was a longtime member of Turkey Cove Baptist Church where she served for a while as the church clerk. She was employed for many years as a hairdresser. Roxann enjoyed painting figurines as well as cooking, baking, and working in her flowers. A very loving mother and grandmother, she cherished her family deeply and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Reid Hollifield, Sr., and her sister, Betty Bence.

Those left to cherish her memory are her six children, Barbara Gillespie (Mitch), Jimmy Hollifield, Jr. (Gloria), Paul Jhant (Rowena), Robin Ballew (Dale), Michael Jhant (Denise), and Luanne Walker (Craig); eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a special nephew Kenny Bence.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Revs. David Edwards and Jerry Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Turkey Cove Cemetery.
