Roverna Hudgins Pinkerton

Roverna Hudgins Pinkerton, age 86, of Marion, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the Solace Center of Asheville.

Roverna was born in McDowell County on June 9, 1937 to the late Arthur and Vennie Gouge Hudgins. Roverna was a member of Hicks Chapel Baptist Church. She retired from the McDowell County Schools food service following twenty years of service. She was known to love birds which she liked to collect. Roverna was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron Hudgins.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Harry B. Pinkerton of sixty-five years; one daughter, Susan Michele Yarbough; two sisters Evelyn Hudgins, and Shelia Loftis (Roger); two brothers DeLoyd Hudgins and Roby Hudgins; one grandson, David William Yarbough, Jr. and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with the Revs. Allen Laws, and Chad Wise.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service.

Interment will follow at Hicks Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
