Rosalie Ollis

Rosalie McKinney Ollis, 67, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Friday, June 18, 2021 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville. She was born in Avery County on December 12, 1953 to the late Fred McKinney and Zennie Mae Taylor McKinney. Rosalie enjoyed tending to her flowers and searching for four leaf clovers. She also liked to visit Mountain Paradise. Rosalie always helped anybody who needed it. She truly loved everyone, and they loved her back. Above all, she loved all her grandchildren, especially her great granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Bo Ollis; granddaughter, Sydney Nanney; and a sister, Carolyn Walters. Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Lake Lure Ollis; daughter, Gwen Nanney (Gerald); three grandchildren, Josie Nanney, Lindsey Nanney, and Cayden Nanney; a great granddaughter, Sydara Nanney; and four siblings, Gail McKinney, Jane Turbyfill (Roger), Terri McKinney, and Rick McKinney. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021 in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service & Crematory in Marion at 6:00 p.m. with Reverend Donald Gragg officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
