Rosa Stockton

Rosa Hollifield Stockton, age 75, of the Woodlawn Community, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville.  A native and lifelong resident of McDowell County, NC, born October 2, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Ted and Lettie Washburn Hollifield.

Rosa, known affectionately as “Granny”, was a loving christian wife, mother, grandmother and sister. 

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, JD Stockton; two sons, Alan Stockton and Anthony Stockton and his wife, Amber; two sisters, Lois Duncan and her husband, Dayton; and Edna VanCise; two grandchildren, Hannah and Joshua Stockton. 

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Hicks Chapel Baptist Church with Revs. Chad Wise and Johnny Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow at Snow Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
